on may 9, google released snapseed 4.0, a photo-editing app, on the play store, introducing the snapseed camera for android users and enabling them to take photos with film-style filters.
this update includes: a redesigned user interface—faster editing speeds, a new favorites bar, and a simplified tools view; professional features such as smart masks, the snapseed camera, and major enhancements to the portrait and film modes; and new tools that let users master color and lighting through hsl color adjustments, dehazing, vignetting, and flare effects. according to 9to5google, the update also overhauls the home screen, displaying edited photos at the top while a “add photo” button at the bottom allows users to select images from the system file manager and begin editing.
the editor’s bottom section is divided into three tabs: looks, tools, and export. the tools tab is further split into refine, fix, style, and all.
in addition, this update introduces film-style filters, allowing users to choose from options in the snapseed camera that emulate the looks of kodak portra 400 (kp1), fuji neopan 200 (kg1), fujifilm superia 200 (fs1), and fuji pro 400h (fp1).
