android headlines today unveiled renderings of the samsung galaxy glasses smart glasses. codenamed “jinju,” the device runs the android xr operating system and shares a similar aesthetic with meta’s ray-ban and google’s gemini glasses, though it features a screenless design.
in terms of specifications, the galaxy glasses are powered by the qualcomm snapdragon ar1 processor, equipped with a 12-megapixel sony imx681 sensor, and support wi-fi and bluetooth 5.3, weighing only about 50 grams. they also incorporate directional speakers and bone-conduction technology, along with a built-in 155 mah battery. according to reports, samsung is scheduled to hold a new-product launch event this july, where it is expected to unveil the galaxy z fold8, z flip8, watch9, and other devices; the galaxy glasses may make an appearance at the event but are unlikely to hit the market anytime soon.
additionally, samsung is developing another pair of smart glasses codenamed “haean,” which will feature a built-in display and is slated for release in 2027.
