the 2d battle-royale moba game “eternal loop” recently issued an announcement stating that its wegame server will officially cease operations on june 30, 2026. the operating team emphasized that this does not mean the overall shutdown of the chinese server; the steam version will continue to operate as usual, and the team will work with domestic partners to advance plans for future seasons, offline events, and competitive tournaments.
the primary reason for shutting down the wegame server is that, as a standalone operating platform, the current user base is struggling to sustain healthy, sustainable operations, resulting in sustained high operational and maintenance pressures. the team had considered the possibility of integrating and interconnecting the wegame and steam versions, but due to technical limitations and relevant compliance requirements, this is currently unfeasible. therefore, the official decision has been made to offer eligible players an asset migration service to their steam accounts.
according to the announcement, starting april 30, 2026, the wegame version will no longer allow new player registrations, and top-up services and dlc purchases will also be discontinued. on the same day, the wegame-to-steam account migration service will officially launch, with a migration window from april 30 to july 31. on june 30, the wegame server will officially shut down, and players will no longer be able to log in or play.
thereafter, user personal information will be deleted on august 31, while top-up records and currency usage logs will be cleared on december 31. the migration service is available only to wegame users with active accounts, and once the migration process begins, it cannot be reversed—data from the original wegame account will overwrite the corresponding game data in the target steam account. eligible content for migration includes character nicknames and levels, mmr and rank, collection progress, unused currency resources, owned experimental units and skins, as well as unexpired season passes and progression records; ineligible items include all mail and logs, the wegame platform’s friend list, and dlcs. the operating team urges players to beware of scams, noting that the official team will never request personal privacy information through private channels.
