activision has officially confirmed that “call of duty: modern warfare ii” will offer an early access experience to the single-player campaign for digital pre-order players, continuing the series’ longstanding player-first approach.
all users who complete a pre-order through official digital platforms—such as the playstation store, microsoft store, battle.net, and others—will be able to dive into the main storyline starting october 16—just one week before the global release date of october 23. this benefit applies to all digital versions across every platform, including the highly anticipated nintendo switch 2 edition.
it’s important to note that this early access privilege is exclusively available to digital pre-order customers; physical copy purchasers, regardless of the retail channel where they acquired the game disc or cartridge, will not be eligible for this early-play event.
the game will launch simultaneously on pc, ps5, and xbox series x/s on october 23, while the switch 2 version will be released separately later this year.
